Mr. Thompson passed on the business to his grandson in-law Daniel McCoy (no relation to our Longhorn Quarterback favorite Colt McCoy) in 2005. Daniel will join the Ja-Mar team as one of the senior roof consultants. “Our clientele really compliment one another,” says David Phillips, Owner and CEO of Ja-Mar Roofing.  “Their commitment to customer service matched our own making it a natural choice to combine our efforts.”  Both companies have a solid legacy, with an established customer base, a broadening base, that encompasses high-end residential, historic landmarks, property management groups and commercial building owners.  Ja-Mar provides their clientele with a full-scale, custom sheet metal shop that specializes in comprehensive restoration, custom fabrication and precise replication of sheet metal products. Employing skilled artisians and craftsmen who have years of experience, Ja- Mar is capable of producing custom roofing panels, chimney caps, copulas, spires, and all types of flashings necessary for the most demanding of jobs.    This acquisition offers the ability, eventually in Ja-Mar’s future, to become Austin’s Southside source for sheet metal products.
